The program committee is cordially inviting you to participate in the
19th Annual Conference of the DGfZ
hosted at the Helmholtz – Centre for Environmental Research Leipzig-Halle GmbH, Germany.
The meeting will take place from October 14th to 18th in the Kubus Building, Permoserstr. 15, 04318 Leipzig.

Scientific Program
Scientists from various fields of research will come together with common interest to the development and application of cytometric technology in medicine, biology, bioprocessing, etc., and to accelerate the advances in cytometric research for the benefit of patients and clinical treatment. Other main topics will focus on new single cell research in plant biology as well as on microbial community operation and reliable pathogen detection. New developments in instrumentations and techniques will be another important part of scientific sessions and discussions. This meeting will cover the state of the art and actual highlights in the field of analytical and quantitative cytology. A list of key note speakers can be found following the link on the right side bar, where you also will find a link to the preliminary and final program of the meeting.
The basic features of these conferences have always been the personal exchange of scientific results and ideas across various disciplines. An attractive platform will be provided for scientists and company delegates to meet and get acquainted with novel industrial developments.
The conference facilities are kindly provided by the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research. One of the Key-Note-Speakers was comfortingly invited by the Graduate School of the UFZ ‘HIGRADE’ . We are also happy that both Beckman-Coulter and the Translational Centre for Regenerative Medicine in Leipzig (TRM) will host two further Key-Note-Speakers of our advanced sessions.

To attend the conference, please complete the registration form using the corresponding web address www.dgfz2009.de or follow the link shown in the right sidebar.
You will receive a message confirming that the form has been submitted headed “DGfZ 2009: User registration successful”. You will also receive an e-mail from the organisers headed “Registration Confirmation for “DGfZ 2009” which will give you the payment details.
You have to register before you submit a contribution.
In case you have submitted an abstract for oral or poster presentation you will get the information: “DGfZ 2009: New Submission Received. Contribution ID: xxx” . All abstracts will be reviewed by the Organising Committee of the Conference.
Members of this year’s program committee are: Dr. Wolfgang Beisker, Dr. Elmar Endl, Prof. Dr. Leoni Kunz-Schughart , Prof. Dr. Ulrich Sack, Dipl. Ing. Peter Schwarzmann , Dr. Torsten Viergutz, Prof. Dr. Dieter Weiss, Dr. Johannes Wessels.
The conference fee includes registration from 14th -16th October 2009, Core Managers Workshop, an opening reception on the first evening which will open the industry exhibition and the Conference Dinner. Scientific sessions will begin on Wednesday 14th at 1 p.m., therefore you should plan to arrive in the morning. The conference will finish on Friday evening.
Registration charges will be:
100 EUR for members until August 31st 2009
120 EUR for non members until August 31st 2009
40 EUR per student until August 31st 2009
Late registration:
120 EUR for members after August 2009
150 EUR for non members after August 2009
80 EUR per student after August 2009
Social Program
The most important social event is the famous Banquet. Admission is included in your admission fee to the conference or may be bought separately for accompanying persons. Meet the experts at the dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. (Please indicate that you will attend in your registration)
Important dates
Early registration deadline for the Annual DGfZ Conference is: August 31st 2009.
Late registration deadline for the Annual DGfZ Conference is: October 14th – 16th 2009.
The deadline for abstract submission is August 31st 2009 for being considered for oral and/or poster presentation and for being presented within the Abstract Book.
Only abstracts with full registration until the given deadline will be considered for oral and/or poster presentations.
Accompanying persons program
Accompanying persons shall register if they want to attend the conference (prices see above) or the Banquet on October 15th (30 € per person).
Sightseeing tour (not only) for accompanying persons can be organised. (Registration is mandatory, costs are not included in the registration fee and will be about € 20,-).
