DGfZ Mobility Grants &

The DGFZ offers two different kinds of Travel Grants.

  • The DGfZ Scholar Grants support young scientists to attend the annual conference of the DGfZ
  • The DGfZ Mobilility Grants provide financial support for organizing and participating in educative and networking events and for inviting speakers for public presentations in the field of cytometry.

DGfZ Scholar Grants

DGfZ Scholar Grants provide financial support to young scientists to attend the annual conference of the German Society for Cytometry.

The German Society for Cytometry (DGfZ e.V.) commits to supporting young scientists seeking networking opportunities and involvement in the cytometry community in Germany. DGfZ Scholar Grants provide financial support to attend the annual conference of the German Society for Cytometry.

Applicants
Master, PhD, and MD students as well as junior postdocs (within 2 years of active research after PhD) can apply for the DGfZ Scholar Grant. Applicants must be DGfZ members or must have applied for membership, and must submit an abstract to actively participate in the conference.

How to apply
The application should include:

  • a short motivation letter outlining why attendance of the annual conference of the DGfZ is important for your scientific career
  • a short CV (maximum 2 pages)
  • the applicants´ abstract for the conference of the DGfZ

All material shall be submitted by email in a single PDF file with the subject line „DGfZ Scholar Grant“ to the treasurer of the DGfZ:

Applications will be reviewed by the executive board and members of the council of the DGfZ e.V. Applicants awarded a DGfZ Scholar Grant will be informed within commonly 4 weeks after submission. The society is not obliged to give reasons for awarding or not awarding the DGfZ Scholar Grant.

Financing
Travel costs and costs for accommodation can be reimbursed by the DGfZ up to a maximum of 600 EUR, pending availability of resources. Additional costs must be covered from other sources.

Funding can be provided electronically as reimbursement after the conference upon submission of a PDF scan of the original receipts to the treasurer of the DGfZ e.V.: Christian von Rein (rein@fbn-dummerstorf.de)

The German Society for Cytometry appreciates the scholars´ attitude to support the aims of the German Society for Cytometry. The support by a DGfZ Scholar Grant must be acknowledged in all oral and poster presentations. The DGfZ will provide a high-resolution logo included in the award information.


DGfZ Mobility Grants

DGfZ mobility and education / networking grants provide financial support for scientific exchange in and beyond cytometry

The German Society for Cytometry (DGfZ e.V.) supports the active participation of young scientists in scientific meetings in the field of cytometry with individual funding to cover expenses for travel, accommodation, and conference fees for national and international meetings. Likewise, the society acknowledges the importance and welcomes applications for support for organizing and participating in educative and networking events in Germany (or abroad, if organized or co-organized by individuals affiliated to a German academic institution) and for inviting speakers for public presentations to Germany, in the field of cytometry.

Applicants
Master, PhD, and MD students as well as junior postdocs (within 2 years of active research after PhD) can apply for the DGfZ Mobility Grant. Applicants must be DGfZ members or must have applied for membership, and must provide evidence of an active role or participation in the conference or event.

How to apply
For travel activities

The application should include:

  • cover letter outlining the motivation for attending the conference / workshop
  • CV (2 pages maximum),
  • the applicants´ abstract for the meeting,
  • the meeting program
  • and an overview of all expected expenses (travel costs, accommodation, conference fees)

All material shall be submitted by email in a single PDF file with the subject line „DGfZ Mobility Grant“ to rein@fbn-dummerstorf.de.

Applications will be reviewed by the executive board and members of the council of the DGfZ e.V. Individuals awarded a DGfZ Mobility Grant will be informed within commonly 4 weeks after submission. The society is not obliged to give reasons for awarding or not awarding support.

For education and networking activities:

The application should include:

  • Cover letter outlining the motivation of the activity
  • CV (2 pages maximum)
  • the workshop or event concept, event or abstract of invited scientist
  • the workshop/event program
  • and an overview of all expected expenses (travel costs, accommodation)

All material shall be submitted by email in a single PDF file with the subject line „DGfZ Mobility Grant“ to the treasurer of the DGfZ:

Applications will be reviewed by the executive board and members of the council of the DGfZ e.V. Individuals awarded a DGfZ Mobility Grant will be informed within commonly 4 weeks after submission. The society is not obliged to give reasons for awarding or not awarding support.
